The Hoop Kid is a minor character in Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove and Shovel Knight Dig. She plays around in the Village with a hoop and a stick.

Appearance

The Hoop Kid is a young girl who wears a red dress and shoes with black disheveled hair. She can be seen hoop rolling with a stick and hoop.

Relationships

Playing Kid

The Playing Kid and the Hoop Kid are good friends with similar hobbies and are seen together many times. In Shovel of Hope, they are both seen playing in the same spot of the Village. In the campaign's ending, they are playing with Tinker Knight's toy together.

Cooper

Hoop Kid seems to admire Cooper, as her dream is also to pilot an airship. When King Knight disrespect the Glidewing's captain, she gets angry and tries to defend him.

Story

Shovel of Hope

In Shovel of Hope, The Hoop Kid can be found in the Village, past the shops. Shovel Knight will bounce if he Shovel Drops on her hoop. Bouncing on it continuously for five seconds will award unlock the Hooper Feat. If he hits her hoop with a charged Shovel Slash (either via the Charge Handle ability or the Dynamo Mail), it will fly off the screen. The Hoop Kid will then stop playing, puzzled.

She reappears in the ending at the Clockwork Tower along with the Playing Kid, waiting for Tinker Knight to finish building an automated toy replica of his tank with the help of the Shovel Smith and the Armorer. Once the toy is built, she runs after it.

King of Cards

In King of cards, the Hoop Kid can be found standing atop the House of Joustus's roof, where she gives King Knight a Cooper card.

Dig

In Shovel Knight Dig, the Hoop Kid can be found sitting at the edge of the roof of Hoofman's shop. She is only reachable only by Shovel Dropping on both Altius and the shop's own sign. As a reward for finding her hiding spot, she gifts Shovel Knight 180. She then wonders if the Tower of Fate in the distance was once ruled by a beautiful queen, unaware of how close she actually is with her speculations. She also comments on witnessing the Tower sinking into the ground.

Trivia

• In one of her concept artworks, she was supposedly bug catching. In another one, she plays hoop with the Playing Kid, her carrying the hoop, him the stick.
