Grapps are red and pink tentacle-like minor enemies with an eye on their head/tip. They appear in Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove and Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon.

Behavior and Tactics[]

Treasure Trove[]

In Treaure Trove, Grapps extend suddenly from pits and walls as the player approaches them and stay extended until defeated. They are vulnerable only on the flat tip; attacking them along the tentacle does no damage to them. They posses a single hit point and deal half a damage point. Shovel Dropping to bounce across them is a platforming challenge presented in the Iron Whale. Upon death they drop one green gem worth 10 gold and one blue gem worth 5 gold.

Pocket Dungeon[]

In Pocket Dungeon, Grapps constantly grow from the ceiling, becoming longer and longer. Like in Treasure Trove, they are only vulnerable at their tip, making the body an impassable obstacle. As such, Grapps can reduce the board's size, so dealing with the tip as soon as possible becomes a priority.

They have 3 hit points and deal one damage point when attacking their head.

Variants[]

Dark Grapps[]

Dark Grapps are purple and dark green-colored Grapps exclusive to Pocket Dungeon. They appear in the Tower of Fate and are more resistant than their regular cousins, possessing 5 hit points, but still dealing only 1 damage points. They behave the same as Grapps, which means their body is invincible and can divide the board.

Joustus Card[]

In King of Cards, Grapps has its own card. This card has 2 Double Arrows facing up and down.
